TEAMS EMBARK ON CRANBROOK FOR KOOTENAY BOWL

CRANBROOK - The Kootenay Football League is set to wrap up its 2024 fall season with teams from nine communities heading to Cranbrook for the 2024 Kootenay Bowl festivities October 25-26.

In addition to the playoffs played at the Kootenay Bowl annually, this year's event will also include KFL All-Star games and the Black & Gold 9-a-side Tackle Showcase featuring the Rocky Mountain Rams SR tackle squad.

Teams have competed in four regional events this fall with hosts in both the East and West Kootenays. The Kootenay Bowl will once again be awarded to champions of both the Junior (Gr. 4-6) and Senior (Gr. 7-9) divisions. Representing the West are teams from Trail, Creston, Castlegar and Nelson. The East features teams from Cranbrook, Fernie, Kimberley, Invermere and Golden.

Teams compete in 5-on-5 flag football using NFL Flag rules. Saturday's round robin games will determine seeding for the playoff rounds on Sunday.

Games begin at 11:30am on Saturday and wrap up with the Black & Gold Showcase at 5pm. Sunday's action is set to begin at 9am and wrap up at 4:30.

All games will be played at Mount Baker Secondary School.
