SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION OPEN!

We have had an overwhelming number of people reaching out expressing interest, new players interested, and a general desire to have some football in your communities this spring.

FORMAT
Please note, it will not be the typical KFL-NFL Flag season with a Kootenay Bowl, Sunday gamedays etc. It will be more locally driven, with locally scheduled games against nearby communities and (likely) one year end tournament to wrap it up.

We will be aiming to keep the entry costs low to encourage new players to try it out,  decrease the number of weekend commitments in a busy spring, and allow for more flexibility as we encourage athletes to play those other spring sports too! We will be targeting an early May start.

We have been in contact with many (not all) local coaches and there has been support for an alternate model this spring. The list below will be updated with practice dates and spring info will continue to be updated, posted, and shared via email. 

This spring we will aim to use the following age groups. Note some teams may combine for numbers:

- 7/8s (Gr. 7-8)

- 5/6s

- 3/4s

FEES

Fees will not be due until teams are confirmed. Please confirm your spot with payment or email to withdraw within 72 hours of team confirmation. 

We will keep spring fees to a minimum to encourage more participation. Fees will cover insurance (paid once a year), flags, and a Kootenay Football t-shirt for games. 

Note, there will not be a ball, jersey, bag, etc. like we have during the NFL Flag season in the fall. 

• Player Fees: $60

• BCPFA / FOOTBALL CANADA Player Insurance: $48 (payable once per calendar year - savings if playing NFL Flag in Fall of 2025)

PRACTICE INFO

Communities may choose to practice more than 1x per week. We will be working to avoid soccer/baseball/other spring sports to allow kids to continue to focus on those in the spring. 

Local Coaches may be scheduling games/mini tourneys with other nearby communities. They will communicate those dates with your team.
